  1. We believe in the complete verbal inspiration and inerrancy of the whole Bible as originally written, and that the Bible is the all sufficient rule of faith and practice.
    Psalm 119:160Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
    ;
    II Timothy 3:16-1716 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
    17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

  2. We believe in the personal triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in Divine perfection.
    Matthew 28:19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
    ;
    Ephesians 2:18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
    ;
    II Corinthians 13:14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

  3. We believe in the Genesis account of creation.
    Genesis 1:11 ¶In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
    Genesis 1:27-2827  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
    28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

  4. We believe that Satan is a fallen angel, the archenemy of God and man, the unholy god of this world, and that his destiny is the eternal lake of fire.
    Isaiah 14:12-15; 12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
    13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
    14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
    15  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
    Ezekiel 28:11-13; 11  ¶Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
    12  Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
    13  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
    Ezekiel 28:14-16; 14  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15  Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
    16  By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
    Ezekiel 28:17-19; 17  Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
    18  Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
    19  All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

    Matthew 25:41; 41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
    II Corinthians 4:4; 4  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
    Ephesians 6:10-13; 10  ¶Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
    11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
    12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    Ephesians 6:14-17; 14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
    16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    Revelation 20:10 10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

  5. We believe in the virgin birth and sinless humanity of Jesus Christ.
    Matthew 1:18-20 18  ¶Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
    19  Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
    20  But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
    II Corinthians 5:21 21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
    I Peter 2:22 22  Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

  6. We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ.
    John 10:30 30  I and my Father are one.
    John 1:1,14 1  ¶In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
    II Corinthians 5:19 19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

  7. We believe the Holy Spirit is the Divine Administrator for Jesus Christ in His churches, but that His ministry is not limited within the churches
    Luke 24:29 29  But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
    John 3:14-17 14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
    15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
    16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
    Acts 1:4, 6, 8 4  And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
    6  ¶When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
    8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
    Acts 2:1-4 1  ¶And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
    2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
    3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
    4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  8. We believe that miraculous spiritual gifts were done away when the Bible was completed. There are three non-miraculous gifts of the Spirit which continue: faith, hope, and love.
    I Corinthians 12-14 12:1  ¶Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

  9. We believe that man was created in the image of God and lived in innocence until he fell by voluntary transgression from his sinless state, the result being that all mankind are sinners.
    Genesis 1:26 26  ¶And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
    Genesis 3:6-24 6  ¶And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
    ...
    23  Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
    24  So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
    Romans 5:12,19 12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
    19  For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

  10. We believe that the suffering and death of Jesus Christ were substitutionary for all mankind but are made effective only to those who believe.
    Isaiah 53:6 6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
    Hebrews 2:9 9  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
    I Peter 2:24 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
    I Peter 3:18 18  ¶For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
    II Peter 3:9 9  ¶The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
    I John 2:2 2  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

  11. We believe in the bodily resurrection and ascension of Christ and the bodily resurrection of His saints.
    Matthew 28:6-7 6  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
    7  And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
    Acts 1:9-11 9  And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
    10  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
    11  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
    I Corinthians 15:3-6 3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    4  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    5  And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
    6  After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
    I Thessalonians 4:16-18 16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
    17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
    ).

  12. We believe in the premillennial, personal, bodily return of Christ as the crowing event of the Gentile Age. This event will include the resurrection and rapture of the saved, and the millennium will be followed by the resurrection of the unsaved unto eternal punishment in the lake of fire.
    John 14:1-6 1  ¶Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
    2  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
    3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
    ...
    6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    I Thessalonians 4:13-18 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
    15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
    16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
    17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    II Thessalonians 2:8 8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
    Revelation 19 20  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

    Revelation 20:4-6 4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
    5  But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
    6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
    Revelation 20:12-15 12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
    13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
    14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
    15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
    Revelation 21:8 8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
    ).

  13. We believe that the depraved alien sinner is saved wholly by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and the requisites to regeneration are repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
    Luke 13:3-5 3  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
    4  Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
    5  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
    John 3:16-18 16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
    18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
    Acts 20:21 21  Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
    Romans 6:23 23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    Ephesians 2:8,9 8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    and that the Holy Spirit convicts sinners, regenerates, seals, secures, sanctifies, and indwells ever believer.
    John 3:6 6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
    John 16:8, 9 8  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
    9  Of sin, because they believe not on me;
    Romans 8:9-11 9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
    10  ¶And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
    11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
    I Corinthians 6:19,20 19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
    20  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
    Ephesians 4:30 30  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

    Titus 3:5 5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
    I Peter 1:2 2  Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

  14. We believe that all who trust Jesus Christ for salvation are eternally secure in Him and shall not perish.
    John 3:36 36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
    John 3:18 18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
    John 10:27-30 27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
    28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
    29  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
    30  I and my Father are one.

    Romans 8:38-39 38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
    39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Hebrews 10:39 39  But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
    I Peter 1:5 5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

  15. We believe that God deals with believers as His children, that He chastises His disobedient child, and that He rewards His obedient child.
    Matthew 16:27 27  For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
    Matthew 25:14-23 ...
    23  His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
    John 1:12 12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
    Hebrews 12:5-11 5  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
    6  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
    7  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
    8  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
    ...
    11  Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

    II John 8 8  Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
    Revelation 22:12 12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

  16. We believe that Jesus Christ established His church during His earthly ministry and that it is always a local, visible assembly of Scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship to carry out the Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ, and each church is an independent, self-governing body, and no other ecclesiastical body may exercise authority over it. We believe that the form of government set forth by Christ for the church is congregational. We believe that Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to the New Testament churches only, and that He promised the perpetuity of His churches.
    Matthew 4:18-22 18  ¶And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
    19  And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
    20  And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
    Matthew 16:18 18  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
    Matthew 18:15-17 15  ¶Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
    16  But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
    17  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

    Matthew 18:18-20 18  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
    19  Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
    20  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
    Matthew 28:19,20 19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
    20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

    Mark 1:14-20 14  ¶Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
    15  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
    16  Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
    17  And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
    18  And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.
    19  And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
    20  And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
    John 1:35-51 43  ¶The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
    44  Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
    45  Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
    46  And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
    47  Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
    Acts 6:1-6 3  Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
    4  But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
    5  And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
    6  Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
    Ephesians 3:21 21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

  17. We believe that there are two pictorial ordinances in the Lord's churches: baptism and the Lord's Supper. Scriptural baptism is the immersion of penitent believers in water, administered by the authority of a New Testament church in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Lords Supper is a memorial ordinance restricted to the members of the church observing the ordinance.
Amen.
    Acts 8:12,38 12  But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
    38  And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
    Romans 6:4 4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
    I Corinthians 5:11-13 11  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
    12  For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
    13  But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

    I Corinthians 11:17-34 24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
    26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

  18. We believe that there are two Divinely appointed offices in a church, pastor and deacon, to be filled by men whose qualifications are set forth in.
    Titus 3:2  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
    3  Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
    4  One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
    I Timothy 1:6-9 1:6  ¶If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
    7  For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
    8  But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
    9  Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
    I Timothy 3:8-10 3:8  ¶Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
    9  Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
    10  And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

  19. We believe that all associations, fellowships, and committees are, and properly should be, servants of, and under the control of the churches.
    Matthew 20:25-28 25  But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
    26  But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
    27  And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
    28  Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
    Acts 13:1-3 1  ¶The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
    2  Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
    3  To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
    Acts 13:15 15  ¶And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
    II Corinthians 8 4  Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
    I Peter 5:1-4 2  Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
    3  Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

  20. We believe that God ordained civil government to promote order in society, to safeguard life, liberty and freedom of worship, and to advance the common good.
    John 19:10-11 10  Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
    11  Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
    Romans 13:1-7 1  ¶Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
    2  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
    Leviticus 25:10 10  And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
    Isaiah 61:1 1  ¶The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
    II Corinthians 3:17 17  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

    We moreover believe that the nation that would secure the blessing of God will use the moral authority of The Holy Bible as its foundation for law and government.
    Psalm 9:17 17  The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
    Psalm 33:12 12  ¶Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
    Proverbs 14:34 34  ¶Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

    It is the duty of every Christian to provide a positive influence to this end and pray for those in authority.
    Matthew 5:13-16 13  ¶Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
    14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
    15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
    16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
    I Timothy 2:1-3 1  ¶I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
    2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
    3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
    I Peter 2:13-17 13  ¶Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
    14  Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
    15  For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
    16  As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
    17  Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
    Every Christian should moreover respect and obey law and authority unless their demands run contrary to the Holy Scriptures.
    Matthew 22:21 21  They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
    Acts 5:26-29 26  ¶Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
    27  And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
    28  Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
    29  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

  21. We believe that the church has both the authority and obligation under Christ to discipline her membership,
    Matthew 18:17-20 17  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
    18  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
    19  Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
    20  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
    John 14:15 15  ¶If ye love me, keep my commandments.
    I Corinthians 5 11  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
    13  But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
    II Corinthians 11:2 2  For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
    and that such must always be done in love,
    I Corinthians 16:14 14  Let all your things be done with charity.
    I Thessalonians 4:9-10 9  ¶But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
    10  And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
    and according to Biblical instructions.
    Matthew 18:15-20 15  ¶Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
    16  But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
    17  And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
    Romans 16:17 17  ¶Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
    I Corinthians 5:1-13 1  ¶It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 2  And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

    II Thessalonians 3:6, 14 6  ¶Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
    14  And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
    Titus 3:10 10  A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
    In the event that there is repentance shown, it is the duty of the church to forgive such a one without delay, and to restore them in fellowship as a member of the body.
    Matthew 18:21, 22 21  ¶Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22  Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
    II Corinthians 2:6-11 6  Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
    7  So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
    8  Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
    9  For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
    10  To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
    11  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
